Ho ho ho!

Just a quick email to remind you about next week's Rock House, on Tuesday the 18th December...

We're going to be decking the (Westhill) Hall with bells and holly and turning the guitars up to 11 to celebrate in true Rock House style... There promises to be plenty of special performances, I know Daniel Wakeford and Beat Express have Christmas songs waiting to be played, who knows what else will be up people's sleeves at this most festive time of year! It'll be the last Rock House of 2012 and it promises to be a whole lot of fun.

New Videos...

So the next Rock House is in 5 days time and to get you all ready for it i've uploaded 3 new videos. I know it's like buses, nothing for ages then 3 come along all at once!

First up is a video from Jolene Wild, who was headlining last month with her band The Fuzzbomb Band. This is a song she wrote about her love of the finest of all drinks - TEA!

Next up is a video of a performance from last month, it's Luc Eisenbarth with his song "I'm A Cowboy". This was the first time Luc had performed like this, with just a banjo and backing... everybody in the audience was blown away at how amazing he was, we're very glad to be able to share the performance with you now -

And finally it's a video from last year of a rare performance of the Flash Rockers before Daniel Wakeford left to pursue his solo career (I have some videos to share of the current line-up too which will be up asap). This was their first time playing at the Rock House and they pulled out this raucous performance of their hit, "Rock 'n' Roll Pop!". Keep your bra and knickers on!

Hope you enjoy them all!

All of these and more should be featured in an online festival Heavy Load are curating this summer to co-incide with the release of the new Wild Things compilation CD. Which many Rock House regulars are on!

There is also a release show for the compilation happening in Brighton at the Old Market on the 22nd May - info here which The Fuzzbomb Band and Zombie Crash are performing at. See you there!

ROCK HOUSE 28! - The Valentines Special

Remember - The Rock House is next week on Tuesday the 21st of February!

As today is Valentines day we're going to be celebrating at the Rock House next week, with plenty of love songs, decorations and all round good times... Including showing our love for the incredible, amazing, wonderful BEAT EXPRESS. These guys are a very important part of Brighton's thriving learning disability music scene, they are now in their 10th (!!!) year as a band and at the end of last year released their second album, "Steamin'" which in my humble opinion is amazing & PACKED full of hits. They are not only an inspiration to us at the Rock House (we used one of their songs to name the night!) but also to many of the people that perform, including everyone they tutored and mentored through music courses at Carousel that now are regulars at the Rock House.
They're going to be headlining the event next week with a selection of hits from the album, which you can hear right now, here -

You can also buy it from itunes here -

Excellent stuff!!

As well As Beat Express, you can expect to see Blood Moon, Zombie Crash, Daniel Wakeford, The Fuzzbomb Band, The Flash Rockers, amongst many more!

As always the music starts at 7:30 but if you'd like to come down and help out setting up and hang out you can do so from 6:30, we're always looking for more people to get involved with the night & especially if you'd like to perform or know someone that might - get in touch!
