Video from September's Rock House

Here is a video of all the bands from last month's Rock House (well nearly... we unfortunately didn't record Bubbaloo's set, with an amazing version of The Bobble Song which the whole room was dancing and singing along to!). Also the sound from the camera didn't work so instead of getting to hear all the bands, you get to watch them and hear Daniel Wakeford singing "Beethoven", which is never a bad thing!

October's Rock House is next week, on Tuesday the 18th. Hope to see you all there!

Enjoy....

Rock House - 2nd Anniversary Tonight!

Hello everyone!

The Rock House is tonight! This will be a very special gig as it will mark our 2 year anniversary!
We're all very excited about it, we've got plenty of the regulars playing including a return from Daniel Wakeford! Also, we should have a least 2 new bands that have recently formed in Brighton which we haven't heard yet, can't wait to see them.

Friend of the Rock House and professional illustrator William Exley has kindly designed us a poster, which will be available on several different colours next Tuesday, have a look -

As always the music starts at 7:30 but if you'd like to come down and help out setting up and hang out you can do so from 6:30, we're always looking for more people to get involved with the night & especially if you'd like to perform or know someone that might - get in touch!

The night finishes at 9:30.

See you there!!

The Carbonators and Damo Suzuki

Richard from the Rock House has been up to Croydon helping to put together a band of musicians with and without learning disabilities to play a gig with the mighty Damo Suzuki as his 'sound carriers'. They're called The Carbonators and they sound amazing! Damo has given them strict instructions not to rehearse so they've been jamming and experimenting for the big night where everything will be 100% improvised!

The gig is this friday, the 22nd of July & you should come along & check it out, the whole night looks great!

It's at - Stanley Halls, 12 South Norwood Hill, South Norwood, SE25 6AB

New albums to download!

Hey,

I've just put up some more albums to download by two amazing solo artists, Daniel Wakeford and DJ Ivon! Daniel had the launch party for his album last month, here is one of the crowd's favourite's from his recent sets, "Beethoven" -

Daniel Wakeford - Beethoven by The Rock House

DJ Ivon is currently working on his 4th album (!!) so I thought i'd upload his second album on here, it's called "Southern Beats" and has some classics on there, including the banger that is "Vampires" -

DJ Ivon - Vampires by The Rock House

To download both these albums, head over to the Music / Downloads page and click on the covers.

The next Rock House is on the 17th May and we're going to have the magnificent sounds of the Coasters with us to help bring in Summer!

Rich.

Old footage found!

Here is a video from back in November 2009 near the beginning of the Rock House... it is of Richard Watson & Dean Baker performing their song, "Yeah Yeah Yeah".

They both have been regular features at the Rock House, whether it being Richard Watson coming down assembling a band there & then and ripping out some amazing improvised songs or Dean Baker adding his perfect rhythm to any number of bands drum sections.

I can't figure out how to embed it in here, so you'll have to follow this link here -

"Yeah Yeah Yeah" by Dean Baker & Richard Watson

Enjoy!

Mike Rowe Video

Here's another video from February's Rock House of Mike Rowe doing what he does best... improvising and freestyling a song on the spot, with backing here from Tom & Rich. The song is aptly titled "Don't Know What I'm Gonna Do"!

Happy New Year!

The next Rock House is next Tuesday - the 18th of January 2011... Looking forward to the first event of the year!

In other news i've just uploaded an album by DJ Ivon, it is his debut record, "My Life".
DJ Ivon is a musician who has been recording loads of tunes in his spare time. He is already halfway through his third album! He is still is yet to make his first step into playing live but the tunes are so good though they need to be shared! He loves making Dubstep, Hip Hop & Drum 'n' Bass tunes with a twist...

Check out some songs here - http://www.myspace.com/djivon27
